Sniff & Bark is the brand baby of two amazing young women: Faith and Maya. As fur moms, they’re doting and devoted to their adorable, four-legged babies but as entrepreneurs, they’re a force to be reckoned with.
The Sniff & Bark brand began in 2020 as the brainchild of Faith who started the enterprise as a side hustle. With time, persistence, and growing business savvy, she discovered that there was an unmet niche in the pet industry for attractive, high-quality, and responsibly produced dog accessories.
Born in China, Faith attributes her dedication and commitment to her parents — a mother who taught her kindness and compassion and her entrepreneur father who showed her what resilience and courage meant. Sacrificing a lot to give their daughter a brighter future, they sent her to Canada at the young age of 14.
Fast forward 12 years later and Faith had become the proud owner of an up-and-coming brand with a passionate community of fellow dog lovers. As the company grows to new heights, she continuously looks for ways to offer products that will bring her customers joy while being functional and well-designed.
It was thus perhaps serendipity that she met Maya in 2021.
In Hinduism, Maya literally means “the power by which the universe manifests itself” — a fitting name for our strong-willed co-founder from Israel. Maya’s childhood was turbulent and unstable with a mother who was conflicted by personal issues and a father who died when she was 15.
Despite growing up in foster homes and having to support herself from an early age, she never lost the will to succeed and honor her father’s memory, who was also a businessman.
By the time Faith met her, she had grown various businesses in her professional career as a growth marketer, including her own established pet accessories and apparel brand.
As Maya and Faith’s friendship progressed, they used their complementary expertise to grow each other’s businesses. It came to a point where a partnership between the two seemed natural and inevitable. Maya and Faith eventually merged their business assets in 2022 under the Sniff & Bark name.
Despite their differences, the pair have found important common ground: a genuine love for animals, their passion to succeed in business, and a commitment to delighting customers with exceptional, quality products.
